SOMERVILLE, Mass., July 29, 2020 — Podimetrics, a care management company with the leading solution to help prevent costly and deadly diabetic amputations, today announced that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC 2 -Type II) examination. The company also announced today the recent hire of Blaine Connaughton as Director of Privacy & Security.

“As a company entrusted with sensitive patient and customer data, mitigating risk and ensuring data security is a top priority,” said Brian Petersen, co-founder and Privacy Official at Podimetrics. “We’re proud we’ve successfully completed this audit and demonstrated our commitment to keeping our patients’ data secure.”

SOC 2 audits are designed to provide independent confirmation that organizations have sufficient controls in place to mitigate risks related to security and confidentiality over an extended period of time. The audit, conducted by The Moore Group CPA, LLC, examined specific company products and services, as well as the internal processes used to deliver them, and found that Podimetrics has the proper controls in place to mitigate risk associated with delivering those products and services.

Podimetrics is further bolstering its dedication to confidentiality by adding Blaine Connaughton as its new Director of Privacy & Security. Blaine will continue to ensure that Podimetrics’ systems are secure and protecting data effectively. Prior to Podimetrics, Blaine ran Cloud Security Operations at Threat Stack where he led research on malware campaigns and developed novel malware detection methods.

“As Podimetrics continues to support more and more patients, it’s important that our systems for keeping patient data secure grow as well,” said Jon Bloom, co-founder and CEO of Podimetrics. “Blaine brings valuable experience leading security efforts in his previous positions and will be a great addition to the Podimetrics team.”
